- W289192578 abstract "Abstract Two cytotoxic monoclonal antibodies (termed WT 1 and WT 2) were produced by the hybridoma technique. The specificity of these antibodies was analysed by cytotoxicity, indirect immunofluorescence, and Elisa. WT 1 is reactive with all human thymocytes and all peripheral T lymphocytes, but does not react with any other cell type from peripheral blood. This antibody also binds to PHA-stimulated T cells and to cytotoxic T lymphocytes induced by mixed lymphocyte culture. Monkey lymphocytes were also reactive with WT 1 and therefore functional aspects (e.g. immunosuppressive activity) of this antibody can be studied in vivo in the monkey. WT 1 is not mitogenic and does not interfere with PHA-stimulation. It does not block the formation of E-rosettes and appears to be unreactive with myeloid progenitor cells. By contrast, growth of myeloid colonies is inhibited by prior incubation of bone marrow cells with rabbit complement and monoclonal antibody WT 2. This antibody is not reactive with peripheral granulocytes or monocytes, and binds to all thymocytes and a small percentage of peripheral lymphocytes." @default.
