To study each and every aspect of the diseasesMadhumegam in the topic of its synonyms of definitionaetiology, classification, signs and symptoms, etiopathogenesis and complications of the diseases fromvarious literature in siddha aspects.6. To study in detail about the incidence of the disease with age, sex, habits, occupation and prevalence.MATERIALS AND METHODS:The study taken as Noi-naadda aspects i.e., pathological view of “Madhumegam” was carried out in Government Siddha Medical College Hospital, Palayamkottai at out patent department.During the study period 70 cases were screened of them 60 cases satisfying inclusion criteria were included in the study. Remaining 10 cases which were not satisfying the inclusion criteria were excluded from the study.The 60 cases are selected for the dissertation under the guidance of Head of the Department and faculities of Noi-naadal Department, Post Graduate of Government Siddha Medical College Hospital, Palayamkottai.Evaluation of clinical Parameters:The cases were subjected to careful scrutiny, which involved history taking and examination of clinical features. are,1.Polyuria.2. Polydepsia.3. Polyphagia.4. Nocturia.A following history was taken from the patients in detail1. Family history.2. Personal history.3. Prevalence of age group.4. Occupational history.5. Diet habits.6. Habitual works.All the clinical signs and symptoms of Madhumegam and it’s diagnosis isdone by assessing the following criteria,Siddha Aspect:1. Envagai thervugal.2. Thiridhoda nilai.3. Udal thathukal.4. Naadi.5. Nilam.Modern Aspect:1. Blood Investigation.2. Fasting blood sugar.3. Postprandial blood sugar.4. Lab studies.CONCLUSION:In early stage of Madhumegam saram, seneer, oon, kozhuppu isaffected, gradually other thathus, Enbu, Moolai, sukkilam are affected. Because of rich caloric diet, Samamaagini changed into “Deechaagini”. At later stage, the udalagni changed into Mandhagini. According to three dhodam, pitha affected as by analpitham. Pitham increased in early stage of the disease then associated with vadham causes the symptoms, as per the poem, yellow colour urination, polyuria, pallornus and emaciation. At the later stage, the vatham, pitha dhodam affects kabha dhodam finally cause the complications. The modern diagnostic parameter also had taken in this study. The tongue colour, coating, pigmentations, cracks were observed.The tongue tool has less diagnotic value. The niram, mozhi, vizhi, meikuri, malam tools have no diagnostic value in early stage of Madhumegam. By the Urine, Neerkuri tool have marginal diagnostic value. And from Neikuri tool, affected dhodams can be identified. Only from Naadi, the disease can be diagnosed finally. The line of treatment is follows.The derangement of thridosha especially the pithathathu is the mainfactor for Madhumegam. This happens especially during the pitha period of life commonly that is 33 to 66 years of life." @default.
