- W2892366825 abstract "Rotary motion as a common type of kinetic energy is ubiquitously existed in our daily life. This paper presents an electret-based energy harvester that is capable of transforming rotary motion energy to electrical energy by electrostatic induction mechanism. Inspired by the conventional hydropower electromagnetic generator which contains bipolar magnets, we introduce both positive and negative charged electrets into single rotational energy conversion system. Compared to the conventional disk-shaped rotary harvester that only makes use of single-charged electret, the proposed bipolar electrets can achieve much higher output performance. Localized corona charging process with shadow masks is employed to pattern the predefined area with opposite types of charges. Both numerical calculation and experimental study are conducted to investigate the energy conversion principle and verify the superiority of the bipolar charged electrets." @default.
