- W289283575 abstract "Some years ago, the Netherlands Central Bureau of started work on the development of Socio-economic Accounts. This paper describes the present state of affairs of these in the Netherlands, and concentrates on the conceptual and methodological interrelationship among Socio economic Accounts, of Income Distribution and National Accounts. The Socio-economic are placed within the context of a proposed System of Accounts. The scope and structure of the Socio-economic are discussed. Special attention is paid to the classification of transactions and population subgroups (household types) and the concepts of income and con sumption used in the accounts. Also the sources and methods used in the compilation of the accounts are described. Special reference is made to the calculation of data on household income and to the adjustments made to the micro data. The reconciliation with macro data from the National is discussed as well. The paper closes with some numerical results and an overview of work in progress. Several years ago the Netherlands Central Bureau of decided to de velop a full-fledged system of Accounts, capable of serving a broad spec trum of demographic, social, and economic research. The term Social Accounts is used in the Netherlands to specify a statistical framework comparable with what is internationally known as a Framework for the Integration of and Demo graphic Statistics (cf. [25] and [27]). Given the complexity of this project, the So cial will be developed gradually from statistical sub-systems according to different aspects of the quality of life of the population. Operational aspects in this context include demography, labour, economy (including, inter alia, income, consumption, wealth, and social security), traffic, politics and government, justice and security, culture and recreation, education and science, health and welfare, and environment. These aspects are usually referred to as topics of social concern." @default.
