- W2893535518 abstract "This paper mainly investigated the role of surface coating in inhibiting surface charge accumulation and increasing DC flashover voltage on epoxy based nanocomposites. The sample was prepared by incorporating 1 wt% nano Al 2 O 3 particles with epoxy resin (EP), the coating was achieved by mixing uniformly with silicon carbide (SiC) and EP. The effect of coating thickness and SiC content were investigated in this paper. Obtained results showed that the EP/SiC coating had obvious effects on inhibiting surface charge accumulation and improving flashover voltage. With the increase of the SiC content, the surface charge density decreased monotonously. When the content of SiC was 5 wt%, the surface charge density reached the lowest value. With the increase of the coating thickness, the surface charge density increased first and then decreased. When the thickness of the coating was 300 µm, the surface charge density was at the lowest value. Meanwhile, the DC flashover voltage increased obviously with the EP/SiC coating." @default.
