- W2893701193 abstract "Abstract In the present work, Al 6061 is electrodeposited by Ni-α-Nano Al2O3 particle which possesses good wear resistance property. In high temperature applications sliding wear is an important wear mechanism. The material loss during sliding at elevated temperature is governed by the antagonistic effect of wear process which is associated with normal load, sliding speed, and sliding distance. The experiments were conducted on special arrangement in pin-on-disc test rig. The statistical analysis of wear parameters are studied by response surface method (RSM). The result reveals that the temperature is found to be most and sliding distance as the least influencing factors on specific wear rate. The formation of hard wear protective glaze layer up to critical temperature of 80 °C resulted in low mild wear. Further, agglomerated hard debris in the form of clusters resulted in severe wear at higher temperatures. SEM micrograph shows the formation of wear resistant glaze layer and adhesive nature of wear." @default.
