- W2893816882 abstract "In this study, two-stage cinnamon bark oleoresin produced by mixing the extracted oleoresin with distilled essential oil. This research aimed to optimize the two-stage cinnamon bark oleoresin maceration extraction process which gave information of the optimum yield and essential oil content at various temperature (50, 65, and 80°C) and contact time during maceration (2, 4, and 6 hours), and its characterization. The characterizations were yield, essential oil content, cinnamaldehyde content, and residual solvent content. Cinnamaldehyde and residual solvent content were obtained by GC FID (Gas Chromatography-Flame Ionization Detector). Based on Response Surface Methodology (RSM), the equation of two-stage cinnamon bark oleoresin sample optimization as follow Y= 23.824+0.747X1+0.513X2-0.527X12+0.153X22−0.782X1X2. The optimum essential oil content (24.0882%) and yield (8.346%) of two-stage cinnamon bark, oleoresin were obtained at 75.113°C for 4 hours 5 minutes and 36 seconds. The characteristics of two-stage cinnamon bark oleoresin that showed the optimum yield and essential oil content were containing 8.728% cinnamaldehyde as an active compound and 3929.195 ppm residue solvent level." @default.
