- W2893875436 abstract "In this study, a CsBr single crystal was grown by the vertical Bridgman–Stockbargermethod, and CsBr transparent ceramic was made by spark plasma sintering. Then, these materials were investigated on the optical, scintillation and thermally-stimulated luminescence (TSL) properties. Regarding the scintillation properties, both the samples show two emission bands peaking around 360 and 500 nm. The origins of the emissions are due to 3P1 →1S0 transitions of Tl+ ion and off-center self-trap exciton, respectively. For the crystal sample, the scintillation light yield estimated is 23,000 ph/MeV with a typical error of ±10% under 137Cs exposure, and the scintillation response demonstrated a good linearity against γ-ray energies of 109Cd (22 and 88 keV), 57Co (122 keV), 133Ba (356 keV), 22Na (511 and 1274 keV) and 137Cs (662 keV) sources. As the TSL properties, when the heating rate was 1 °C/s TSL glow curves of the crystal and ceramic samples show major peak around 100 °C. The TSL dose responses of these samples have a good linearity from 0.01 mGy to 1000 mGy." @default.
