- W2894046462 abstract "The rapid changes in land utilisation may result in greater impervious cover. This deteriorating condition lead to the environmental degradation. Gradually, more people move to urban areas and build settlements without any regard to the environmental sustainability by building septic tank which nearby the water source. Consequently, the ground water might be contaminated with Escherichia coli bacteria. Thus, the impervious cover land could trigger the concentration of Escherichia coli become soupy due to the absence of mixing of rainwater. The aim of this study is to create a model of Escherichia coli as one indicator of groundwater quality in East Jakarta, primarily in Duren Sawit district by using the multivariate regression. This research employed the population density, building density and building coverage ratio as independent variables, whereas Escherichia coli is a dependent variable. The groundwater samples and building coverage ratio measurements were taken at 30 locations. The result suggested that the coefficient determination was 67.8% and the sum of squared errors of prediction was 15943.61. It appears that the building coverage ratio is the most influential variable with significance value of 1.15*10−6." @default.
