• W2894470369 abstract "In this paper, we aim to theoretically and experimentally study an organic light emitting diode (OLED) in a planar microcavity. One important issue that should be considered is to find an optimal design for an OLED in a microcavity: on one hand, the OLED thickness needs to be adjusted to get resonance at the desired wavelength, on another hand, the location of the emitter dipoles with respect to the metal electrode has to be consistent with the antinode condition of the emission wavelengths. This latter is important to improve the efficiency of the standing wave within the OLED microcavity. In this paper, we provide a theoretical model and carried out experiments using a microcavity OLEDs to validate the proposed model. The theoretical model is based on a classical approach valid in the so-called weak-coupling regime, which is the working regime of the considered microcavity OLED. The spontaneous emission is described as an electric dipole and some examples with experimental data are discussed in order to validate the applied approach." @default.
