The improvement of herd health management, that is, the reduction of prevalence of major diseases in dairy farms, such as mastitis and reproductive disorders, and, that of their deteriorating effects on production parameters (less output from the same amount of input) and consequently the greater profitableness can greatly contribute to successfully run a dairy, thus, to the preservation of jobs generating disposable income in the rural areas. Additionally, in many regions there is lack of manure in the plant production, therefore, from the point of view of environmental protection, the sustainable milk production giving manure with the highest value would also be very important. Several methods and practices have been developed in order to help herd managers reduce the detrimental effects of mastitis and reproductive failures so far. Some of them may improve udder health and reproductive performance significantly and, therefore, increase the efficacy of the production remarkably, but it is far from certain that these implementations are also beneficial and worth introducing. In this paper we review the economic aspects of herd health management decisions, with special regards to mastitis and reproduction on dairy farms presenting results of field surveys conducted in Hungarian Holstein-Friesian dairy herds so that a sustainable farm productivity can be achieved. ------------------------------------------------------- A tejelő teheneszetek termeszeti erőforrasokert vivott versenyenek kovetkezteben egyre fontosabb az erőforrasok minel hatekonyabb felhasznalasa. Az allomany-egeszsegugyi menedzsment javitasa a teheneszetekben előfordulo allomanyszintű megbetegedesek – pl. tőgygyulladasok es szaporasagi zavarok – előfordulasanak es azok termelesi mutatokra gyakorolt negativ hatasanak csokkenteset jelenti, ezaltal lehetőve teve adott mennyisegű inputbol tobb output előallitasat, igy nagyobb jovedelmezőseg elereset. Ezek a tenyezők nagymertekben hozzajarulnak egy teheneszet sikeres műkodtetesehez, ami a videki teruleteken a munkahelyek megőrzeseben, tehat a jovedelem-teremtesben nagy szerepet jatszik. Raadasul szamos regioban nem all rendelkezesre elegendő tragya a novenytermesztesi agazat szamara, tehat kornyezetvedelmi szempontbol is kiemelkedően fontos a fenntarthato tejtermeles, melynek soran jo minősegű tragya is keletkezik. Napjainkban szamos modszer van a teheneszetek vezetőinek kezeben a tőgygyulladas es a szaporasagi zavarok karos hatasainak merseklesere, melyek alkalmazasaval a tőgyegeszsegugy, a szaporasag, igy a termeles hatekonysaga jelentősen javithato, de egyaltalan nem biztos, hogy ezeket az intezkedeseket megeri bevezetni.
