The chapter discusses the development of the counter-current moving bed fuel reactor systems of the syngas chemical looping (SCL) and coal direct chemical looping (CDCL) processes for H2 production and power generation with CO2 capture, respectively. In the co-current moving bed fuel reactor operation, the gas species travel in the same directions as the solid flow. Co-current moving bed reactor system is directed for partial oxidation of solid and gaseous fuels to syngas.
