• W2895565595 abstract "The piezoelectrically-actuated inertial stick-slip device (PAISSD) is widely used in the field of nanotechnology because of its high resolution and theoretically unlimited displacement. However, it suffers from such problems as a small driving force and low velocity. In this paper, an optimized driving waveform is proposed to increase the velocity. The optimized driving waveform includes a second order driving waveform, the step response of the waveform, and a buffer waveform that can effectively improve the velocity. First, the driving waveform optimization is proposed and a kinematic model of inertial stick-slip driving is established. Then the effects of various waveform parameters on PAISSD performance are determined and optimal parameters are selected via simulation. Finally, the kinematic model is validated and the effectiveness of the driving waveform optimization is demonstrated experimentally. We achieve higher velocities and larger single-step displacements than those provided by the traditional driving waveform, a sawtooth wave. Results show that the waveform optimization-driven single-step displacement and velocity are remarkably effective." @default.
