- W2895713996 abstract "The aim of this experimental work is to optimize the electrical discharge machining (EDM) parameters of Al-LM6/SiC/B4C aluminium matrix composites. Aluminium alloy (Al-LM6) as matrix reinforced with varying weight percentages of silicon carbide (SiC) and boron carbide (B4C) particles, weight of particles for compositions of sample one and two has (2wt.% SiC+4wt.% B4C) & (4wt.% SiC+2wt.% B4C) respectively.Al-LM6/SiC/B4C hybrid composites manufactured through the stir casting technique. Multi-response optimization was carried out through grey relational analysis (GRA) with an objective to optimise the machining performance characteristics, namely material removal rate (MRR), tool wear rate (TWR), radial over cut (ROC) and flatness. The optimum combination of design parameters is identified, which shows the significant improvement in performance characteristics. The Contributions of individual machining parameter to the responses are determined using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The result shows that the discharge current contributes more in the set of combinations to affecting the combined output responses." @default.
