The development of high-performance energy storage devices has been in high demand owing to the long cyclic functions and high power densities. Nanofibers are widely used for energy storage devices since they have high surface areas, flexibility, pore structure with interconnecting pores, lightweight features, and other tailoring properties. Electrospinning is a versatile, efficient, and straightforward process of synthesizing nanofibers for many energy applications. Electrospun nanofibers can be in the forms of ceramics/oxides, polymeric, metallic and composites forms, and their properties (electrical and thermal conductivity, energy bandgap, and dielectric constant) can be easily tailored. In this chapter, the main focus is on the applications of electrospun nanofibers in solar cells, lithium-ion batteries, fuel cells, and supercapacitors. The influences of structures and unique features of electrospun nanofibers on these energy and environment applications are also elucidated." @default.
