A review on the topic indeed shows the limits of the kind of studies conducted until now as the conditions under which they were carried out are most of the time difficult to compare. A more general definition of “low pressure” for boiling was therefore given in order to extend subtly this idea to other fluids than water. An original methodology was then developed to select a convenient “mock-up fluid” to be compared with water in this state of “thermodynamic similarity” of “low pressure”. As the same bubble dynamics behaviors are observed in the two considered fluids (namely water and cyclohexane), the interest of this concept of “mock-up fluids” in low pressure boiling was brought to light: this original approach was thus validated and it was highlighted how it deserves to be further exploited to gain a better insight of the phenomenon." @default.
