The ability of PLIF to provide instantaneous, spatially-resolved measurements of property distributions such as species concentration, temperature, or, in more advanced implementations, velocity and pressure, represents a large step forward in available experimental technique. This paper focusses on the application of the PLIF technique to species concentration imaging in engineering test facilities.
