- W2896077729 abstract "In this article, we propose to investigate the monitoring of the process parameter during laser cladding. We emphasis our study on manufacturing aeronautics components.First, we describe the cladding setup: laser, nozzle and powder feeder. Then, the control system is introduced and described. The system is presented for monitoring the manufacturing of simple structure. A vision system analyses coaxial and off-axis images of the molten pool. The system can extract different characteristics and command the laser power.The influence of the process control is shown on cladding a titanium alloy. Samples with and without process control are compared in term of geometry and metallurgical analysis. The samples made without process control exhibit heterogeneous metallurgical properties from the beginning to the end of the process, meanwhile those made with process control show a very good homogeneous properties during cladding.After interpretation of these results that demonstrate the interest of using a process monitoring not only for the geometry but for the metallurgical properties too, we conclude on the possible improvement of the system in order to overcome remaining problems related, for example, to rapid changes of the process during manufacturing.In this article, we propose to investigate the monitoring of the process parameter during laser cladding.
