- W2896483285 abstract "The possibilities of use of an ash-and-slag mixture from bituminous coal combustion in electric power plant in cement production is analysed in the paper. The following samples were tested: the original ash-and-slag mixture (AS) and its two grain-size fractions of 0-15 µm (AS_0-15) and 15-30 µm (AS_15-30). The physical and chemical properties and pozzolanic properties of ash-and-slag wastes were determined. The experiments resulted with the following conclusions: the ash-and-slag mixtures reduce the rate of heat evolution during hydration and increase initial setting time of cement pastes. The blended cement with fractioned ash-and-slag samples produced mortar with better mechanical properties (higher compressive strength) than that with original ash-and-slag. The incorporation of 20 wt% of AS_0-15 sample gives blended cement of strength class 42.5R according to PN-EN 197-1. The application of ash-and-slag mixture in cement production required further investigations." @default.
