In this study, semiconducting cadmium sulfide (CdS) nanoparticles were synthesized on top of open TiO2 nanotubes arrays by radio frequency magnetron sputtering. By tuning CdS deposition parameters and deep studying of CdS/TiO2 surface morphology and related surface statistical metrics, correlation between all morphological parameters and CdS/TiO2 nanostructures activity as photo-anode was illustrated for the first time. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and photoluminescence (PL) measurements were used to study crystalline structural, morphological and optical properties of the CdS/TiO2 nanostructures and later the sample with optimized properties was used as photo-anode in dye-sensitized solar cells." @default.
