- W2896768497 abstract "Abstract In this chapter the potential application of ceramic membranes in CO2 separation processes is discussed. The fundamentals of ceramic membrane preparation and characterization methods are reported, with emphasis given on microporous silica membranes, which have the higher potential for application. Among the different application fields examined, precombustion CO2 capture seems to be the most suitable for ceramic membranes integration. However, despite the very promising results published in the literature, these have not been demonstrated yet in commercial scale. The main reasons for the lack of industrial penetration are analyzed, and trends for future research on the field are discussed." @default.
