- W2896800246 abstract "The industrial establishment of hierarchical metal–organic zeolites (H-MOZs) is driven by the need for material property, production sustainability, and economic feasible. Here we developed a novel and transferable approach for rapid fabrication of a series of stable H-MOZs using a cation surfactant as template. This significantly enhances the economic sustainability of the conventional process by (i) reducing synthesis temperature to 298 K from high temperatures under the conventional method; (ii) reducing synthesis time to 8 min from several hours; and (iii) increasing the space–time–yield (STY) of H-MOZs to 2.3 × 103 kg·m–3·d–1, at least 3 orders of magnitude higher than those of conventional hydrothermal synthesis. Furthermore, the porosity of H-MOZs could be efficiently tuned through controlling the type of introduced templates, and this strategy is extendable to prepare stable hierarchical metal–organic frameworks (H-MOFs). In addition, the synthetic mechanism of H-MOZs was proposed by means of computational calculations. The resultant H-MOZs showed enhanced gas adsorption performance in the capture of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), reflecting the outstanding potential of the efficient strategy for H-MOZs synthesis at industrial scale and a wide range of applications." @default.
