- W2897080075 abstract "In this paper, we report on the characterization of undoped and doped ZnO semiconductor for potential detection of formaldehyde gas, which involve the investigation of their morphological structures and optical properties. Four different dopants are used, namely Al, Ga, In and Sn with three different concentration which are 0.5 at%, 1.0 at% and 1.5 at%. Undoped and doped ZnO are prepared using sol gel method and annealed at 500°C for 5 hours. From scanning electron microscope (SEM), the result showed significant changes of surface properties for each dopant. The grain size exhibited from atomic force microscope (AFM) for undoped ZnO is greater compared to doped ZnO. Average surface roughness for all dopants type also increase as the doping concentration is increased. The obtained transmittance spectra shows that doping concentration affects the optical properties of ZnO as the transmittance percentage decreases as the doping concentration is increased." @default.
