- W2897524715 abstract "In this paper, the mechanism of forming limit improvement for the double-layer sheet metal is investigated by the elliptical hydraulic bulging test. Based on the classical Swift and M-K theories, the diffuse and localized instability prediction models of double-layer sheet metal are established and the right areas of forming limit diagrams (FLDs) are obtained. It is proved that the predictions compare well with the experimental results through the quantitative error analysis. Furthermore, physical experiments and numerical simulation are performed to research the forming limit and geometrical profile improvements of double-layer sheet metals. The bulging profiles of one-layer AA2B06 and double-layer AA2B06/SUS321 sheet metals are fitted and evaluated by 5 order polynomial and least square circle fitting. Results indicate that the double-layer sheet metal is more beneficial for the formability attribute of target sheet compared with the one-layer sheet metal." @default.
