- W289888711 abstract "The C-W-Zr system was firstly investigated by [1930Agt], who reported the absence of a continuos solid solution based on ZrC and WC. The primary experimental study of the phase equilibria in the C-W-Zr system was done by [1965Kuz]. The isothermal sections of the C-W-Zr system at different temperatures were established by [1965Kuz, 1972Vil, 1973Ved, 1974Tel, 1974Ved, 1974Zak, 1977Sav]. The solidus surface of the C-W-Zr system was proposed in the work of [1972Ere, 1974Vel], which was later confirmed experimentally by [1976Ere, 1981Art, 1984Ere], and then reviewed by [1982Vel, 1994Mch]. The entire liquidus projection was constructed by [1981Art, 1982Vel] based on the work of [1976Ere, 1979Ere]. The solidus temperatures of the alloys with the compositions along the quasibinary system of ZrC-W were measured by [1974Zak, 1977Sav], and briefly reviewed by [1988Zak]. According to the investigations by [1972Ere, 1973Ere, 1973Sam, 1974Vel, 1976Ere, 1977Mat, 1982Vel], there is no ternary compound in the C-W-Zr system. The experimental observations [1976Ere, 1984Ere] indicated that the two binary phases ZrC and WC1–x extend into the ternary region, and form a continuous solid solution *. Table 1 summarizes the investigations on phase relations and crystal structures in the C-W-Zr system. For a better understanding of the C-W-Zr system, any measurements of the thermodynamic properties of the C-W-Zr alloys will be very useful." @default.
