The results show that the average equivalent permeability (<mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML id=M2><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>K</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>R</mml:mi><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>E</mml:mi><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>V</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:math>) at the REV size for DFNs increases with the increase in <mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML id=M3><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>D</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>f</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:math>. The <mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML id=M4><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>K</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>R</mml:mi><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>E</mml:mi><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>V</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:math> shows a downward trend with increasing length-width ratio of the submodel. A strong exponent functional relationship is found between the REV size and <mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML id=M5><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>D</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>f</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:math>. The REV size decreases with increasing <mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML id=M6><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>D</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>f</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:math>. With the increment of the length-width ratio of submodels, the REV size shows a decreasing trend. The effects of length-width ratio and <mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML id=M7><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>D</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>f</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:math> on the REV size can be negligible when <mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML id=M8><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>D</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>f</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub><mml:mo>≥</mml:mo><mml:mn>1.5</mml:mn></mml:math>, but are significant when <mml:math xmlns:mml=http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML id=M9><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mi>D</mml:mi></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mi mathvariant=normal>f</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub><mml:mo><</mml:mo><mml:mn>1.5</mml:mn></mml:math>." @default.
