• W2899169543 abstract "Objectives: The study aimed to assess the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) among Chinese aged > / = 35 years old with hypertension. Methods: A national wide survey was conducted from October 2012 to December 2015 to assess the prevalence of cardiovascular disease and risk factors. The study used a stratified multistage random sampling method to obtain a nationally representative sample of 500,000 residents aged > / = 15 years from 31 provinces in mainland China. A subsample of 34994 aged > / = 35 years were draw blood for creatinine. Hypertension was defined as systolic BP (SBP) > / = 140 mmHg and/or /diastolic BP (DBP) > / = 90 mmHg and/or use of antihypertensive medication within two weeks. Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was calculated using simplified MDAD formula. CKD was defined as an eGFR of < 60 mL/min/1.73 m (2). Results: There were 14557 hypertension in the subsample, and 13281 subjects with complete data were used for statistical analysis. Overall, 7.46% were diagnosed with CKD, and the prevalence of male and female were 6.41% vs 8.67% (p < 0.01), respectively. The prevalence of CKD was associated with age, and the prevalence in age groups 35∼44, 45∼54, 55∼64, 65∼74, 75∼ years were 1.60%, 2.73%, 5.50%, 12.81% and 26.36% (p < 0.01), respectively. There were no significant differences of CKD prevalence between different body mass index (BMI), the prevalence of CKD in BMI groups < 24, 24∼28 and > / = 28 (kg/m (2)) were 8.92%, 6.38% and 7.18 % (p > 0.05), respectively. Additionally, the prevalence of CKD for grade 1, 2 and 3 hypertension were 6.05%, 8.10% and 12.19 % (p < 0.01), respectively. Conclusion: There is a high prevalence of CKD among Chinese aged > / = 35 years with hypertension, especially for those aged > / = 75 years." @default.
