- W2899320199 abstract "Objectives: To investigate the influencing factors for carotid intima-media thickness in Tibetan people. Methods: A total of 1409 participants were enrolled in the Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Ganzi, in Sichuan Province, who were either Tibetan Buddhists or Tibetan ordinary residents. Standardized questionnaire, physical examination, fasting blood sampling and carotid ultrasonic inspection were performed. Results: Logistic regression analyses showed that increased CIMT was associated with age (OR: 1.422, 95%CI: 1.038, 2.004, P = 0.031), WHR (OR: 1.321, 95%CI: 1.257, 1.852, P = 0.015), SBP (OR: 1.862, 95%CI: 1.120, 2.302, P < 0.001), FBG (OR:1.891, 95%CI: 1.464, 5.501, P < 0.001) and TC (OR: 2.127, 95%CI: 1.481, 4.157, P = 0.023) in Tibetan. Being Buddhists (OR: 0.224, 95%CI: 0.116, 0.875, P = 0.022), longer Buddhism activities participation time (OR: 0.318, 95%CI: 0.065–0.816, P = 0.013) and HDL-C (OR: 0.762, 95%CI: 0.524–0.918, P < 0.001) performed the protective factors of the CIMT value in Tibetan. Conclusion: Age, SBP, WHR, FBG, TC are significant risk factors for CIMT in Tibetan. And Buddhism activity participation is an independent protective factor for CIMT in Tibetan." @default.
