- W2899362509 abstract "Abstract In this paper, an attempt was made to study how viscous flux flow affects crack propagation in a long cylindrical superconductor by determining the stress intensity factor during the decreasing field stage after a zero-field cooling process. Under the assumption that the crack forms a perfect barrier to the flow of the shielding current, the effect of viscous flux flow on the flux profiles within the superconductor was investigated by solving the Bean model and viscous flux flow equation simultaneously. Based on the plane strain approach and J-integral theory, the variation in the normalized stress intensity factor considering viscous flux flow was obtained for different viscous flux flow velocities and crack lengths. The results indicate that when with the crack lengths are compared, the effect of viscous flux flow on crack propagation is more significant." @default.
