Furthermore, the language is a tool for interacting or for communicating by which acknowledged as a tool for conveying thoughts, ideas, concepts or feelings. In sociolinguistic study, language is defined as a system of symbols as sounds in which arbitrary, productive, dynamic, diverse and humane. Language is the basis of all activities we do, because language can be said to support all activities in social life. Language is also used as a communication tool, delivery of information and exchange ideas.In the use of the language the relationship between language, vocabulary and gender of the speaker can be reviewed sociolinguistically because it involves social problems is society and linguistics. The discussion in this research analysis of the characteristic of male and female language with characters from the La La Land film. From the data, the writer analyzed problems are 1. What is the meaning of male and male in gender differences, 2. What are the factors that cause differences in gender language, 3. What are the characteristic of male and female language.In this study the writer use qualitative descriptive method by analyzing data. In the process of analyzing data, the writer use gender theory from Deborah Tannen to answer this questions. The object in this study is the La La Land movie script. From the data the writer conclusion that there are difference and characteristics between the language of female and maleBased on the data in chapter 4, the writer made conclusion that there are difference and characteristic between the language of female and male. The use of female's language is more such as to make to intimacy and connectivity than male.There are many factors the difference language between female and male, there are a difference between the strength and social factors of female and male. The purpose of male in the use of language is more to get existence and status. While the female tend to make a relationship with intimacy with others. Female are more skills than male. While male used language to indicate their status. The difference is often in miscommunication between female and male." @default.
