- W2900535793 abstract "An extensive literature has already studied the socialization process. Nevertheless, most of the theoretical models developed so far, either did not consider the socialization process as interactive enough or did not distinguish the organization from the work group. This article proposes then a new theoretical model called the expectation fit model that considers that socialization succeeds when the newcomer accepts the non-negotiable expectations of both the organization and the work group. Moreover, this dynamic model conceives socialization as a process built gradually by reducing the gaps between the three actors of the socialization through negotiation. This model was built based on interviews of high school educated young newcomers -that are considered by their managers as the most difficult population to socialize- and on interviews of their colleagues and supervisors." @default.
