- W2900760852 abstract "This review focuses on cyanide-bridged metal complexes and introduces the functionalities realized by the absorption and desorption of water and alcohol molecules in a nanoscale cavity created by a metal-cyanide framework. Methods to realize a cyanide framework with a nanoscale cavity in a cyano-bridged metal complex are beneficial to generate the sensitivity necessary to respond to a wide range of chemical stimuli such as water and alcohol molecules. Herein we initially explain the MnW-cyanide framework structure, which is an octacyanometalate complex containing a nanoscale cavity that can be occupied by aromatic molecules. Then we introduce a variety of functional complexes developed from this structure. Functionalities include the magnetic properties responding to n-propanol attached to a CuW-cyanide framework and a charge-transfer-induced spin transition phenomenon induced by water molecules attached to a CoW-cyanide framework. Finally, we focus on a hexacyanometalate complex containing a cyanometalate framework with a nanoscale cavity. This complex exhibits humidity-sensitive magnetism induced by water molecules attached to a CoCr-cyanide framework and superionic conductivity generated by water molecules attached to a VCr-cyanide framework." @default.
