- W2900981861 abstract "The gas holdup of bubble column reactor is an important step to designing an efficient slurry reactor for large-scale conversion of synthesis gas to liquid hydrocarbons. Gas holdup considered a main variable affecting the reaction rate of gas-to-liquid (GTL) conversion. This paper study the gas holdup with specific condition (inlet air velocity, concentration of KCl, effect of inlet air holes and effect of addition needles to bubble column liquid). The geometry of bubble column are 100cm height, 10cm diameter and 1cm diameter of holes). Statistical analysis was performed and showed that correlation of (R2=95.8%) between dependent variable: gas holdup, and independent variables: gas velocity, KCl concentration, height of needles and number of holes. The gas holdup effect proportional with gas velocity and number of holes and effect inversely proportional with KCl concentration and height of needles. The increase of superficial gas velocity and inlet air holes lead to increase the gas holdup. The addition of KCl to two phase causes generally decrease gas holdup. The increase of needles height causes decrease of gas holdup. The liquid and gas phase that used were water and air respectively." @default.
