- W2901019218 abstract "The excessive use of pesticides in recent years and their continuation in the future may have harmful effects on soil microbial community as an indicator of soil health and one of the main components of the environment. In this research, the effects of Tribenuron-methyl, Metribuzin, Trifluoralin, Haloxyfop-methyl, 2,4-D, Diazinon, Chlorpyrifos and Imidaglopridaria on Microbial Biomass Carbon and Microbial Biomass Nitrogen, Basal Respiration and Substrate-Induced Respiration, dehydrogenase and urease activity and soil organic carbon, as well as control soil, were studied in three replications. The experiment was conducted for six months and the indicators were determined at the beginning of the experiment, after three and after six months. The results showed that there were significant differences between pesticides regarding the biological and eco-physiological indices of soil (p≤0.05). Chlorpyrifos and Diazinon showed the highest and the lowest negative effect on these indices, respectively. Among all the indices, the highest negative effect of pesticides was observed on soil basal respiration and the activity of urease. The highest levels indices of urease enzymes, dehydrogenase, basal respiration, Substrate-Induced Respiration, organic carbon, Microbial Biomass Carbon, Microbial Biomass Nitrogen, Carbon to Nitrogen ratio, Metabolic quotient, Microbial quotient were related to Metribuzin after six months 44.1 µgN.g-1,2,4-D after six months 1.44 µgTPF.g-1, Tribenuron after three months 0.26 mgco2.g-1, Chlorpyrifos after three months 0.96 mgco2.g-1, Chlorpyrifos after six months1.59%, Trifluoralin after six months 2.19 mgCmic.100g-1, Chlorpyrifos after six months 1.8 mgNmic.kg-1, Trifluoralin after six months 16.6 mgC.mgN, Tribenuron after three months 0.134 mgco2 – c.mg-1, 2,4-D after three months 1.89 mgcmicg-1.Corg and the lowest indices were respectively for Trifluoralin after three months 24.8 µgN.g-1, Metribuzin after three months 0.001 µgTPF.g-1, Imidaglopridaria after three months 0.067 mgCO2.g-1, 2,4-D six months 0.08 mgco2.g-1, 2,4-D after three months1.22%, Tribenuron after six months1.81 mgCmic.100g-1, Trifluoralin after three months 1.35 mgNmic.kg-1, Chlorpyrifos after six months 10.6 mgC.mgN, Imidaglopridaria after three months 0.035 mgCO2 – C.mg-1, Tribenuron after six months 1.19 mgCmicg-1.Corg. Considering that all measured indices except for the Microbial quotient and the ratio of Carbon to Nitrogen which were calculated, the other indices decreased compared to the control and after six months of application, all the measured indices, except for Microbial Biomass Nitrogen, microbial quotient, organic carbon and dehydrogenase. Therefore, it could be stated that the reduction of some of these indicators was temporary and after six months the condition is reached to the state of soil before the use of pesticide. Regarding the long-term effects of pesticides on the soil ecosystem and process, it could be stated the perhaps the pesticides impose long-term changes and cause change at composition and function of the microbial community of soil and thereby reduce the quality of soil." @default.
