- W2901592110 abstract "This chapter examines the production of anticorrosive hybrid glass coatings on 304 stainless steel using melting gels prepared using ethyltriethoxysilane (EtTES) and diethyldiethoxysilane (DEtDES). The hybrid glass coatings were characterized to compare the poured and electrodeposited coatings. The hydrophobicity was estimated using contact angle measurements. Melting gels are hybrid organic inorganic materials which contain covalent bonds between the organic groups and inorganic silica backbone. Electrodeposition is a very common way to obtain thin coatings on metallic substrates. Besides dip coating, spinning, end electrospraying, silane based coatings can be attained by electro-assisted techniques. The thermal treatment was necessary in order to obtain hybrid glass coatings by the creation of 3D network between organic/inorganic silicon chains." @default.
