- W2904239945 abstract "Overindustrialization and the burgeoning population pose severe degradation to environmental quality. In this present era of development, there is nothing absolute. In a few case studies pesticides have even been reported in breastmilk. The overapplication of synthetic pesticides to enhance agricultural productivity has caused contamination of soil and water ecosystems. Pesticides have contaminated large areas of the Earth that may be reclaimed using the appropriate technology. Several authors have reported that the application of plants for the reclamation of pesticide-contaminated sites is a new and sound method, commonly known as phytoremediation. Phytodegradation is the most suitable method for removal of pesticides from contaminated sites. In this chapter, the characteristics and health impacts of pesticides and their remediation, especially through plant-based methods, are discussed." @default.
