The accuracy of bacterial identification, using MALDI-TOF MS, largely depends on the robustness of the reference database and therefore, the construction and validation of such a reference database for the identification of AAB is crucial. The number of AAB new taxa has increased exponentially since the application of molecular techniques to replace the phenotypic methods traditionally used. With the number of AAB species rapidly increasing and the decreasing costs of sequencing, restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of polymerase chain reaction-Amplified fragments analysis has become obsolete for the identification of novel isolates. A. E. Yetiman and Z. Kesmen applied denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis to investigate the bacterial population of different traditionally-produced vinegars and mothers of vinegar." @default.
