Despite the polycrystalline nature of the samples, a plethora of de Haas--van Alphen oscillations is observed, one series of which shows a strongly field-dependent effective mass and Berry phase, supporting the premise of unusual fermions. Moreover, AuBe exhibits superconductivity with a highly enhanced resistive critical field. This property is shown to be intrinsic to this material class, implying that topologically protected surface states are involved." @default.
