- W2904352754 abstract "The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between building energy consumption and the change of temperature in surrounding areas due to the size and shape of urban park. Park and green areas have positive effects on conservation of ecosystem, mitigation of heat island, microclimate control, and saving building energy consumption. Therefore, the provision of urban park is important in city planning, and the effects of the facilities have been investigated in many studies. However, most of the studies have been conducted to demonstrate the spatial effects by comparing green areas with the other areas, and few studies have analyzed the effects on the surrounding areas. In this study, the effect of urban park on the surrounding area was analyzed in consideration of their size and shape using optimum function. The result of this study shows that the effects of reducing temperature and energy consumption in the surrounding areas are depending on the type of urban park. Furthermore, the larger is the size of the park, the greater become temperature reduction and cooling effect. In addition, linear type parks are more disadvantageous in terms of temperature than the other types. On the other hand, the supply of urban park does not inevitably lead to reducing building energy consumption in the surrounding area." @default.
