- W2904697523 abstract "Non-Conventional machining processes are gaining much importance now a days, the demand is rising continuously since the conventional machining process cannot achieve the expected outcomes. Wet Chemical Machining is also one such type of machining process wherein it is used to manufacture miniaturized components with complex profiles on thin sheets without altering the material characteristics. The field of medical sciences is also developed a lot, now they have choices to select the best suitable alternative material and process to manufacture the implants, which is because of the development in material science. In present paper SS 316L sheet is taken under the study since it has vital medical applications and Ferric Chloride is used as the chemical etchant. Process parameter includes Concentration, Temperature and Time which are optimized by consideration of multiple performance characteristic namely Surface Roughness (Ra) and Undercut (Uc). Orthogonal array was performed based on Taguchi method, nine experimental runs were taken from L9 array. The results are observed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Grey Relational Analysis (GRA). The Optimum process parameters found from GRA are the chemical Concentration of 500 gm/lit, Temperature of 52°C and Time of 8 minute. Also ANOVA is applied to find the significant process parameters and their level of influence over the process." @default.
