- W2905473682 abstract "This study was conducted to investigate the additivity of apparent ileal digestibility (AID) and standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of CP and AA in diets containing wheat, canola meal (CM), meat and bone meal (MBM), and sorghum distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) with Cr and Ti as digestibility markers (DMr). Four diets containing wheat, CM, MBM, and DDGS as sole source of nitrogen, three mixed diets containing wheat-CM-MBM, wheat-MBM-DDGS, and wheat-CM-MBM-DDGS, and a nitrogen-free diet were formulated. Chromic oxide and titanium dioxide were each incorporated into diets at 5 g/kg. Sixteen barrows (initial BW = 34.7 ± 0.6 kg) fitted with T-cannulas at distal ileum were allotted to a duplicated 8 X 4 incomplete Latin square design with 8 diets and 4 periods. Ileal digesta was collected for 2 d after a 5-d adaptation. There was no interaction between diet and DMr for AID and SID values. Chromium and Ti determined similar values of basal ileal endogenous losses, AID, and SID. In wheat-CM-MBM diet, the measured AID of CP and most AA were similar to predicted values. In wheat-MBM-DDGS diet, the measured AID of CP and most indispensable AA differed (P < 0.05) from predicted with Cr as DMr, but not differ with Ti as DMr. In wheat-CM-MBM-DDGS diet, the measured AID of CP and most indispensable AA were greater (P < 0.05) than predicted AID values regardless of DMr type. The measured SID of CP and most AA were consistent with predicted values. In conclusion, DMr type did not affect the determination of endogenous losses, AID, and SID of CP and AA. The additivity of AID of CP and AA in diets containing wheat depends on other protein sources and DMr type. Additionally, SID accurately predicted ileal digestibility of AA in mixed diets containing wheat, CM, MBM, and DDGS." @default.
