- W2906683764 abstract "This chapter discusses association colloids. The most active research field in condensed matter physics is the one related to soft matter problems. Soft matter is one of the possible configurations of matter, which in contrast to the solid state, is characterized by the existence of positional degrees of freedom, so the particles can move in response to an external perturbation or to the internal fluctuations of the system. The great variety of complex fluids makes it difficult to provide a unified treatment of this type of matter. However, the most common type of complex fluid is the one, which owes its character to electrically charged particles. The most important effect of electric charge in the phase behavior of the fluid is the existence of long-range coupling among the particles in solution because of the Coulomb interaction. This chapter concludes that the theory of ionic solutions continues to be the classical electrolyte theory, as no other fundamental formalism has been designed for the mesoscale, like classical thermodynamics has been designed for the macroscale or quantum mechanics for the microscale." @default.
