This requires not only a verification of LES results against laboratory or numerical experiments, but also a quantification of modeling uncertainty, numerical errors, etc. A good agreement of our LES results with the experiment was already demonstrated in our previous work (Draksler et al., 2014). Thus, in the present work a sensitivity study regarding the grid refinement and the choice of SGS model coefficient is reported. Discussion is based on time-averaged simulation results; therefore, the sampling error is evaluated as well. The experimental test case with 13 air jets at Reynolds number around 20,000 impinging on the heated plate is simulated. The explicit Wall-Adaptive Local Eddy-viscosity (WALE) subgrid-scale (SGS) model is used to model the subgrid-scale turbulence." @default.
