- W2908201654 abstract "We report on the design and development of a flexible non-enzymatic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) gold-electrode for measuring glucose. To facilitate the glucose sensor, a nanocomposite of platinum colloidal (co-Pt) was electrodeposited on the surface of Au-PET electrode to realize a bimetallic electrode for non-enzymatic glucose biosensing. The electrocatalysis of glucose at the surface of the electrode was measured by voltammetry and amperometry at a working potential of 0.3 V vs. Ag/AgCl. The sensor exhibited a linear dynamic range up to 17 mM glucose and a sensitivity of 0.121 mA/mM cnr? with a response time of 2 s under physiological conditions. This method provides a low cost electrochemical deposition technology to fabricate PET-Au-co-Pt electrodes for glucose monitoring. The results indicate that this biosensor is highly specific to glucose in the presence of commonly interfering species such as ascorbic acid, uric acid, and acetaminophen. This simple solution to the pursuit of electrochemical sensors for biomolecular detection does not suffer from the limitations of complicated surface modification and critical microenvironment factors required for enzyme based biosensors." @default.
