New procedures that substantially improve the quality of GPT measurements are developed and described. Measurements were carried out for different flow rates of water and intensity of air blowing in a purger. The comparison of IPI and GPT measurements in dense sprays revealed intrinsic problem of these techniques. It was shown that reconstructed droplet size distribution strongly depends on parameters of the optical system and post-processing such as laser intensity, focal ratio, brightness threshold and others." @default.
