- W2908732832 abstract "Formidable growth of mobile data rate in wireless communication requires a waveform which can handle wide bandwidth data rate signals and give provision of low latency transmissions for long as well as short data bursts applications. The most suitable waveform for high data rate communication can be GFDM. Its flexibility allows presence of CP-OFDM and equalization in single carrier frequency domain. In this paper, we analyze the important characteristics of GFDM and comparison of GFDM with OFDM, FBMC and UFMC. Motive of this paper is to come out with the most prominent and suitable multicarrier modulation waveform that can be used in 5G cellular network. Paper comprises of introduction to GFDM had proved to be the concept to spread the available spectrum for each user into multiple spectral segments, each of those segments having more or less bandwidth. After introducing GFDM, paper comprise of disadvantages of OFDM, FBMC and UFMC which made GFDM to be most suitable for 5G." @default.
