- W2912082747 abstract "For the plants or engines using calcium-rich fuels, calcium compounds are potentially dominant poisons resulting in deactivation of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts. This work aims to evaluate the combined effects of CaCl2, SO2 and CO2 on the SCR activity of practical V2O5-WO3/TiO2 catalyst, with emphasis on characterization of the catalysts subjected to activity test for more than 35 h. Results indicate that CaCl2 alone poisons the catalyst and the poisoning effect is alleviated by SO2 but aggravated by CO2. In the absence of SO2, Ca2+ interacts with WO3 to form CaWO4 and results in serious reduction of surface acidity and oxidability. In the presence of SO2, formation of CaWO4 is inhibited and the synergetic role of sulfate (bound to calcium or vanadium) and vanadium accounts for the slight Ca2+-induced deactivation." @default.
