• W2912278250 abstract "1957년 제 1회 전을 시작으로 1979년 제 11회 전까지 22년에 걸쳐 이어진 동경 국제 판화 비엔날레는 일본의 현대 판화의 전개에 결정적으로 영향력을 미쳤으며, 현대 미술의 동향과 연동하여 판화를 ‘탈장르’, ‘탈매체라고 하는 포스트모더니즘 담론 위에 안착시키는 역할을 했다. 본 논문에서는 동경 국제 판화 비엔날레를 면밀히 살펴봄으로써 일본의 근대 판화에서 현대 판화로 이행하는데 영향을 미친 ‘현대성’에 대해 고찰하고자 한다. 먼저, 일본 ‘판 예술’의 출발점인 에도 시대의 우키요에부터 근대에 일어난 ‘창작 판화 운동’을 거쳐 현대 판화로 전개되는 흐름을 분석했다. 이러한 통시적인 접근 방법 통해 각 시기에서 판화에 대한 정의, 나아가 예술 작품에 대한 정의의 변화에 초점을 맞추었다. 또한 동경 국제 판화 비엔날레를 전기와 후기로 나누고, 각 시기의 작품들에서 드러나는 특징을 살펴봄으로써 당시 현대 판화에 대한 주요 논의들에 대해 주목했다. 특히 전시라는 제도적 틀을 유지하기 위한 판화에 대한 규정이 전시를 거듭함에 개정되었고, 이러한 규정의 변화는 판화 개념의 확대를 나타내는 지표이며, 동시대 미술에서 매체의 확장에 판화가 어떻게 기여했는지 밝히는데 중요한 자료로 기능한다. For 22 years from the first exhibition in 1957 to the eleventh in 1979, the International Biennial Exhibition of Prints in Tokyo had a decisive influence on the development of modern printmaking of Japan. In conjunction with the trends of modern art, the Biennale played a role in establishing the place of printmaking in the Postmodern discourses of ‘genre deconstruction’ and ‘media deconstruction’. By looking closely into the International Biennial Exhibition of Prints in Tokyo, this paper examines ‘modernity’ that has influenced the transition from early modern printmaking to contemporary printmaking in Japan. First, this paper analyzed the development of Japanese printmaking from Ukiyo-e of the Edo period, which was the starting point of ‘Hanga’ (Japanese printmaking) art and the early modern ‘creative printmaking movement’ to contemporary printmaking. Through this diachronic approach, this study focused on the changes in the definition of printmaking and works of art of each period. In addition, this study divided the International Biennial Exhibition of Prints in Tokyo into early and late periods to examine the characteristics of the prints in each period, paying attention to major discussions on modern printmaking at that time. In particular, the definition of printmaking to aintain the institutional framework of the exhibition has been revised as the Biennale continued. The changes in the definition are an indicator of the expansion of the concept of printmaking, and provides one of the important data in illuminating how printmaking contributed to the expansion of media in contemporary art. the definition" @default.
