• W2912349192 abstract "The Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions(AACC) is an autonomous, independent, and non-partisan body that is established in July, 2010, in recognition to contribute to development of democracy in Asia, actualization of constitutionalism and enhancement of fundamental rights of the people by expanding exchanges in regards to experiences and information on constitutional justice and strengthening cooperating relationship between constit utional courts. AACC made an agreement to newly establish permanent secretariats in three countries of Republic of Korea, Indonesia, and Republic of Turkey in its third meeting held in Indonesia, August, 2016. Secretariat for Research and Developme nt(AACC SRD) was decided to be established in Seoul, Korea. Since Constitutional Court of Korea has played a pivotal role in the establishment and development of AACC, building AACC SRD as the Venice Commission of Asia has risen as the new task. Above all, AACC aims to ① strengthen international solidarity and partnership between constitutional courts and equivalent institutions of Asia, and simultaneously has purpose ② to find ways to institute and prepare for regional human rights protecting body such as Asian Court of Human Rights. Given that AACC has such purpose, AACC SRD that Republic of Korea has recently become a host of, should be structurized and be operated in a way that can accomplish the basic need of AACC. Especially, considering that AACC SRD is a secretariat for 'Research and Development', the AACC SRD ought to gradually expand its role in responding to the development of Human Rights protecting system in Asia. In order for the AACC SRD to accomplish such role, the organization should be well-composed, human resources should be properly recruited, sustainable financial support should be given and the internal and external legal grounds should be prepared. Performing active roles such as identifying Asian people's will to build human rights community and drawing their agreements out by building collaborating governance through interactive exchange and cooperation in and outside the border is necessary as well." @default.
