- W2912429112 abstract "Received: 26/11/2017Accepted: 06/08/2018 This paper analyses the biological founda- tion of a new definition of human nature, as proposed by Ernst Cassirer. Based on the state of the art, Cassirer’s Philosophy relies, for the most part, on the biological research in order to develop a definition of the human being’s symbolic nature. It will be shown that Cassirer’s analysis considers three key elements: 1) Uexkull theoretical biology; 2) aphasia and apraxia studies; 3) and a detailed philosophical consideration of both former and latter elements. The ensemble of all three elements offers a new perspective on the biological fundamentals in which the Neo-katian philosopher supports his definition of human being a symbolic animal." @default.
